Shanghai Automobile International Circuit is located in Jiading District, Shanghai. It is situated in the northeast of Anting Town, an ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River, which has a strong folklore and local conditions. It is adjacent to the world-famous Shanghai International Automobile City, 30 kilometers from the center of Shanghai and 20 kilometers from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. Surrounded by Jiajin (A5), Jiasong, A30 and other high-grade highways, the planned rail transit R3 line goes directly to the racing track.


The track and main building design of SAIC International Circuit is undertaken by German Tinker Company, a professional F1 Circuit Design Company designated by FIA. About 200,000 people were designed in the grandstand of the racing track, of which 50,000 seats were in the main and deputy grandstands, and the rest were temporary grandstands on ramps. The main building of the race track and other main buildings are about 150,000 square meters, including the main and auxiliary stands, the race field command center, the news center, the fleet living area, the maintenance station and so on. These buildings adopt the design concept of integrating modern modelling with traditional Chinese culture.


The starting position area of the "Shang" shaped track is between the diamond area of the main stand of SAIC International Circuit and the maintenance area of the motorcade. After the starting line, the racing cars are waiting for the five sets of red lights which are set up in front of and above the track to send out the signal of the red lights, which will mean that the five sets of red lights will go out at the same time. It's the beginning of the F1 race.


When the first five sets of red lights at the start of the F1 race turned out, the car rushed out of the starting line. A racing car running out of the starting line can raise its speed to 6 gear 305 km/h in the starting straight line, and then the racing car will take the T1 bend at the bottom of the starting straight line.


The bottom of the straight start section of the "up" track and the curve at T1 are uphill sections, which means that the position of the race car and the race car passing the T1 curve are very important when the race car starts. If the driver makes a mistake in starting, it will not only affect the advantages and disadvantages of the position of the car after turning T1, but also affect the position of the driver after finishing the race.


Before reaching the T1 turn of the track, the racing car will turn right at the speed of 234 km/h with its foot on the accelerator brake. There is a chance for the racing car to overtake at the T1 turn. Then the car is facing a continuous compound right-left-left bend (T2-T4), which has a 12-meter vertical drop before and after the continuous bend. The T1 bend and the right (T2) -left (T3) continuous bend belong to the spiral contraction bend with a radius of R = 93.90 meters to R = 31.8 meters. Drivers should be very careful when crossing this continuous compound right-left-left bend. The balance of the car should be very correct. Insufficient bouncing and steering will cause the car to deviate from its best course. A slight carelessness may cause the car to collide or run out of the track even during the turn. The driver put his heavy foot on the brake, changed the speed back to two gear 115 km/h tangent to cross the first right bend (T2), then the left bend (T3) was 107 km/h, and then the car slightly put the accelerator in three gear 156 km/h to pass the last left bend (T4).

 

The car continues to accelerate after crossing the compound right-left-left curve, and then the throttle continues to accelerate. The next one is the T5 curve. The car can reach a speed of 234 kilometers per hour in 5 gear before turning T6 after crossing the T5 curve. Then the car goes through the first hairpin bend on the "top" track, T6 with a curve radius of R = 18.70 meters. When the driver is about 100 meters away from the hairpin bend, he steps on the accelerator and slows down to the third gear 102 km/h tangent to cross the bend. After turning, the car accelerates too long S-bend with big foot pine on accelerator, and the speed of the car in the long S-bend can be accelerated to 5 gears 265 kilometers per hour.


Below T9 and T10 is a double-vertex bend. When the car crosses the bend, it has to reduce gear. Especially when the car crosses the ninth left bend, the car slows down from 260 km/h to 3-168 km/h. After entering the bend first, it speeds up the car to 225 km/h and reaches the second in the car. Before the vertex of the bend, decelerate to three gear 150 km/h to pass through the second half of the sharp bend. It is very important for the driver to control the speed of the car in the T10 curve. The speed of the car with out-of-gear driving will be difficult to play out in the immediate acceleration section.


After crossing the T10 bend, the car entered a section of straight road with sustained acceleration to speed up to 284 km/h. Before reaching the T11 bend, the car braked slowly and retreated to 2 91 km/h to cut into a series of left (T11) - right (T12) - right (T13) spiral-shaped widened bends, whose radius was from R=8.80 meters to R=120.55 meters. After the car turns left, the section of the continuous curve is not very smooth. The car keeps three gears at 168 km/h speed, passes through the right bend next to the stones on the left side, then speeds up to 210 km/h, and then slides the car to the left side off the curve and continues in the bend. Speed up to 249 km/h in 4th gear and turn right at T13. Here, the speed control of the section is very important for the driver's single-lap performance. The driver must bend as fast as possible to improve his performance on the longest straight line (1.175 kilometers) of the whole Shang zigzag track in the next section. The speed of the racing car on the straight line can reach 6 grades 327 kilometers per hour. This series of bending process is quite thrilling. Before the car reaches the end of the big straight line, the driver's control of the tangent point of the bending and the timing of gear shifting is very important, which is also a severe test of the driver's driving control technology.


The T14 bend at the bottom of the main straight line is the narrowest and steepest hairpin bend in the upper zigzag track. Its curve radius is R=10.07 meters. The racing car must shift and decelerate to 2 gear 88 km/h tangent when it is about 100 meters from the hairpin bend at a speed of 6 gear 327 km/h. The slightly accelerated racing car then slips to the right side of the road and throws the racing car sideslip to the left side off the bend (T14) and then cuts into T15 with 2 gear 88 km/h tangent. Because this section of the road is a deceleration zone, it is easy for the car to jump, skid or turn inadequately when passing, resulting in the loss of downward pressure, which can easily lead to the driver's misoperation of the car and deviate from the car's course, so that the car misses the turning point and rushes into the rubble heap of the buffer zone. A section of the road after the car's starting pinch is another overtaking point of the "upper" track. After passing the hairpin curve, the car speeds up to 225 km/h immediately after passing the T15 curve in the second gear 88 km/h, and then comes the last T16 curve in the "upper" track.


If a driver wants to get a good one-lap result on the "Shang" track, he has to go through the last bend. The car was originally gearshifted at 225 km/h and slowed down to a 3-speed 181 km/h tangent. The car passes through the curve in a nearly full throttle state, and the driver must also exit the curve at the fastest possible speed. Because only in this way can a racing car get its highest speed when running on the straight line where the starting (final) line is located. This is not only a challenge for all drivers, but also a chance to win. After turning, the car rushes to the starting (final) point line at full throttle speed, completing a lap of race.
